After signing the Convention on Biological Diversity on 5th
June, 2002, Ghana confirmed her commitment by ratifying the Convention
on 29th August, 1994. Soon after the ratification, a "National Country Study"
was undertaken in1995. In 2002 a National Biodiversity Committee
(NBC) was established to lead Ghana in the implementation of the
Convention. The NBC supervised the preparation of a "National
Biodiversity Strategy" Document and is currently finalizing the
"Action Plan Document" of the Strategy.
