A National Country Study was carried out in 1995 with support from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The report is currently available only in hard copy.

The National Biodiversity Committee is currently sourcing for funding for a project in order to review the National Country Study Report and also prepare the National Reports, as Ghana has not as yet submitted any. It is hoped that this project will begin in the early part of 2005 

national biodiversity strategy and action plan (nbsap)

To facilitate effective periodic review of the "Action Plan", Ghana decided to separate the NBSAP into two parts, namely the: "National Biodiversity Strategy Document" and "National Biodiversity Action Plan". The Strategy Document was finalized and published in 2002 with support from Conservation International, which also provided funds for the preparation of the "Action Plan", which is currently in its drafting stage. Both reports are available only in hard copy.
