The up coming workshop will be opened by the Director of CSIR-CRI, Dr. Hans Adu-Dappah. Dr. Emmanuel Otoo, the M&E officer of CSIR-CRI WAAPP will be introduced to other stakeholders. The participants will be drawn from the Universities, Research Institutes, Minstry of Food and Agriculture and farmers/traders.
Stakeholders of WAAPP will brainstorm and harmonize the M&E system and reporting format of the project. Three categories of reseachers: the National Centre of Specialization (NCOs), which is CSIR=Crops Research Institute, Competitive Agricultural \Research Grant winners and Non-Competitive Researchers are invited. The M&E framework for WAAPP will be established and the channels of reporting redesigned. The Project Coordination Unit of each reporting stage will be strengthened with an M&E officer whose job it is to aggregate and synthesize the research results, and prepare an M&E report to be submitted to its immediate superior. The M&E system will be established via a Result-based management scheme, which uses the logical framework approach to track and assess progress of work and attainment of research objectives. The monitoring frequncey as well as the reporting frequency will also be established.
