UNEP was established after the United Nations Conference on Human Environment in 1972 in Stalkhom, Sweden. Since then, Ghana has been implementing all the environmentally related conventions such as CBD, CMS, CITES, UNFCCC, UNCCD etc with this international body. Several projects have been carried out by way of implementing these conventions and these have led to the improvement of the lives of the people of Ghana and also have improved the quality of the environment of the country.
