Information Training & Outreach Center for Africa ITOCA in collaboration with GINKS are pleased to announce a Scientific Writing and Athourship workshop.The objective of the workshop is provide participants with the opportunity to refine their scientific writing skills in an interactive, practical way.
By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- Structure a research paper.
- Use the IMRAD framework for formulating and presenting research papers.
- Identify and select peer review journals in which to publish.
- Formulate scientific writing style and English in research papers.
- Learn about open access and predatory publishing.
- Learn about publishing ethics and intellectual property rights.
- Access scientific material on TEEAL and AGORA databases.
- Use Mendeley reference management software
Registration fee is US$120 per participant
Registration fee includes lunches, refreshments and training material. The registration fee does not include travel, accommodation and other travel related expenses. These are the responsibility of the participants or their institutions.
The organizers regret that they have no sponsorship to assist prospective participants.
